Welcome to Swan Falls High School

This is a really exciting time for Kuna High School students. Thanks to the Kuna community passing the 2017 bond, we built a state-of-the-art facility -- Swan Falls High School -- that will support learning and career exploration for Kuna School District students.

Swan Falls was designed to be built in phases to meet our students’ needs as our community grows. Depending on community support in the future, other phases will be built and Swan Falls will become a comprehensive high school like Kuna High School.

In this first phase, Swan Falls will be an extension or satellite location for Kuna High and Initial Point studends to take general education and career and technical education classes based on their schedule choices.

The administration and management of the school is under Kuna High, with Brian Graves as the principal and Robbie Reno as the onsite lead building administrator at SFHS. We’re excited for our students to benefit from this community investment.

History

SFHSdam

-This mural of Swan Falls dam proudly hangs in our school cafeteria. Thank you Idaho Power for your generous support of SFHS

In March 2017, Kuna patrons approved a $40 million bond, $25 million of which was earmarked for the first phase of the new high school. The district purchased land at Columbia and Linder roads in August 2017. Future additions to the school will depend on resources and community support of future bonds and levies. Swan Falls references a popular recreation area and significant wildlife area along the Snake River about 20 miles south of Kuna. It is the site of the Swan Falls Dam, operated by Idaho Power. The original dam was built in 1901 to provide electricity to nearby mines. According to Idaho Power, Swan Falls is the oldest hydroelectric generating site on the Snake River. The old plant became a museum, when Idaho Power built a new power plant in the mid-1990s.
